Despite the regretted absence of convenor Tor Raubenheimer due to injury, Global Group 1 has begun the task of refining the machine parameter operating plane for the proposed ILC.  Wednesday's agenda included presentations on DR and BDS considerations, very low charge parameters and long RF pulse parameters.

"It's important that the design parameters allow for elbow room," said SLAC's Nan Phinney.  "Alternate parameter sets will have advantages and disadvantages, so it's important that the parameters allow different ways to achieve the same goals."
