ILC School Office Information

School site (Hayama)
ILC School will be held at Soken-dai Hayama campus, and accommodations for the school participants are at Shonan Village Center (SVC) which is within walking distance from Soken-dai. Please refer to the attached map.

Headquarters
School headquarters is located at meeting room on the first floor in Sokendai. It will be open during the following hours:

May 19 (Fri.) 16:00 to 18:00
May 20 (Sat.) 8:30 to 18:00
May 21 (Sun.) 8:30 to 18:00
May 22 (Mon.) 8:30 to 12:30
May 23(Tue.) 8:30 to 18:00
May 24 (Wed.) 8:30 to 18:00
May 25 (Thurs.) 8:30 to 15:30

Lectures
You can download lectures files.

During lectures at Soken-dai lecture hall, you can not connect internet. Hard copies of each lecture will be distributed before the lecture.

Hotel at Hayama
Your room is at Shonan Village Center (SVC) from May 19 to 26. When you arrive at Hayama, please pick up your room key at School check-in desk at SVC.

Meals
All students are expected to have all meals together at a restaurant of SVC. You will receive meal coupons when you check-in.

If you order some extra drinks, such as beer, juice, water, during meals at the restaurant, you will be charged for it respectively when you check-out.

Internet access
You can access internet at lounge of Soken-dai, your room at SVC, and public space at SVC. Please note that you need an internet cable to access internet in hotel room.

Facilities at SVC
There are free laundry machines and an inside swimming pool in SVC.

School site (KEK)

On May 26, we will leave Shonan at 9:00 for KEK, Tsukuba, by bus.

Headquarters at KEK
Headquarters will be at meeting room on the first floor in building No. 3 (San-gokan) KEK. It will be open during the following hours:

May 26 (Fri.) 13:00 to 18:00
May 27 (Sat.) 8:30 to 18:00

KEK dormitory
On May 26-28, you will stay at KEK dormitory. The room charge is 760 Japanese yen per night. You can pick up your room key at the headquarters of KEK on May 26.

Meals
We will have lunch at Sansui-tei in downtown Tsukuba before arriving at KEK on May 26. Dinner on May 26, breakfast, lunch on May 27 will be prepared at a restaurant inside KEK. For dinner on May 27, the last day of our school, a small party will be held at a lounge in KEK International Center.

Internet access
You can access internet in KEK. Please note that you are required to submit "application form for wireless LAN" before you arrive at KEK.

  • Please note that you are prohibited to access internet during lectures.

Facilities at KEK
There are laundry machines and kitchens in the dormitory.

General Information

AC-plug for your laptop
Please be reminded that the type of Japanese AC-plug is in almost all cases different from the standard of your country. We, therefore, advise you prepare an AC-plug adapter to make your laptop usable in Japan.

Currency exchange
As the nearest bank is far away from the school site (it is in downtown Zushi, 20 minutes by bus), it is strongly recommended to change your money at Narita airport when you arrive.

Social Events

Welcome party
Welcome party will be held on May 19 from 18:30 at a restaurant on the first floor in Sokendai.

Banquet
Banquet will be held on May 25 from 18:30 at SVC.

Photo Session
A Group photo will be taken on May 20, before lunch, at Soken-dai.

Tour to Kamakura
In the afternoon on May 22, we will visit Kamakura. Further information will be announced during the school. Buses will leave 13:30 from the entrance of SVC.
